Most of the North Carolina Piedmont averages 65 inches. Charlotte NC through the South
Carolina Piedmont receive considerably less, typically 50 inches annually. The area in
South Carolina along the Fall Line only averages
about 38 inches annually.

the area around Jacksonville NC which receives about 7 inches more. Hilton Head Island
only receives about 38 inches annually.
